Virtual comedy show to help raise funds for community in KZN affected by the looting

Digital content production and marketing company, Pint Size Media, to produce Laughs for KZN, a virtual comedy show to help raise funds for the community in KZN who were affected by the recent violence and looting.

“I responded to a tweet by Leah Solomon, known to her followers as Dame Jewdy Mensh, for assistance in producing a virtual comedy show, and the movement was started,” says Jon Gericke, radio presenter and owner of Pint Size Media.

Gericke explains that a virtual event such as Laughs for KZN is what Pint Size Media does. Combine that with the need to assist fellow South African’s in need, it was an easy decision to make.

The event, which was formulated by Solomon and put together in just two weeks, will take place on Friday 30 July. Twelve comedians will pool their collective wits and raise funds for those affected by the looting in KwaZulu-Natal.

Hosted by Darren Maule, the free, online comedy show brings together some of South Africa’s best comedians to raise money for the KZN Emergency Relief Drive. In partnership with the Lions Club KZN, the drive is committed to getting impacted areas back on their feet by distributing food parcels and necessities.

“While the event is free to watch, we ask for viewers to make a donation towards the fund,” says Gericke.
