Our client, a leading role player within the real estate sector seeks to appoint a Junior Events Manager to their Cape Town office.

This role involves the end-to-end management of all internal and external client events, from conception to completion, creating memorable and impactful experiences that resonate with attendees, while turning every occasion into an opportunity to showcase the company’s brand.

Key performance areas:
  • Responsible for making decisions on the logistics, operational and creative aspects of events such as venue selection, venue partnerships, budget allocations, and event schedules.
  • The full event management function which includes:
  • Sourcing of venues, catering, logistics, concepts and gifts, sending out invites, managing RSVPs, arranging presentations, and
  • Driving ROI on events where relevant.
  • Manage all event communication
  • Manage event mailbox, monitor and track RSVPs
  • Provide detailed feedback after events to relevant stakeholders
  • Gifting and promotional items
  • Source and provide promotional items as well as corporate gifts that is aligned with the brand, in line with budget and delivery specifications
  • Budget management
  • Contribute to annual marketing budget prep
  • Manage individual event budgets
  • Monitor and track own marketing budget throughout the year
  • Process invoices.
  • Supplier Liaison and Management;
  • Effectively liaise with suppliers, vendors, venues and hotels.
  • Event Trend Analysis
  • Source new venues and event ideas, keeping up to date with the latest industry trends
  • Marketing Strategy Contribution
  • Contribute ideas to marketing strategy development

 

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, brand management, event management, communications or PR.
  • A minimum of three years experience in full function event planning and management.
  • Sound knowledge of:
  • the event industry trends,
  • marketing and branding,
  • Health and Safety management,
  • technology and AV knowledge,
  • event budget management, and
  • vendor and supplier management.
  • A strong corporate profile with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Sound project and crisis management skills.
  • Creative thinking with strong attention to detail.
  • Brand focused.
  • Sound problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail orientated.
  • Ability to work under high pressure.
