Position overview

CMT invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Media Project Manager based at our Head Office in Rondebosch. Salary commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, coordination and management of multi-platform media campaigns with a strong focus on behaviour change communication. The role requires comprehensive understanding of media workflows, including production, post-production, scheduling, delivery, and compliance with broadcaster and platform requirements. The position demands strong organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistent adherence to deadlines and budgets.

 Key Responsibilities (This list is not exhaustive):
  • Provide day-to-day project management, scheduling and reporting support to the Media Production Department
  • Plan, coordinate and schedule media projects and campaigns across multiple platforms
  • Manage the production and delivery timelines of creative assets
  • Prioritise workloads to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met
  • Support the administration and coordination of media production staff and service providers
  • Contribute to the development of funding proposals and donor documentation
  • Develop and manage project budgets during planning and proposal phases
  • Ensure supplier and contractor agreements accurately reflect deliverables and timelines
  • Prepare and submit expenditure documentation and financial reports in collaboration with the Finance Department
  • Compile operational, narrative and financial reports for funders and stakeholders
  • Track and report on media campaign performance, narrative outcomes and expenditure
  • Consolidate media data into accurate, comprehensive reports
  • Prepare presentations, case studies and internal documentation relating to campaign work
  • Report regularly to the Programme Director and Chief Executive Officer on project progress, risks, budgets and future planning.

Minimum requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Production or a related field
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in media or advertising project management
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and logistics
  • Proven media production or media coordination background
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects within approved budgets
  • Ability to work independently, productively and under pressure
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Eligibility to work in South Africa
