Role overview:The purpose of this role is to support the fundraising team with administrative tasks, donor reporting, donor research, and prospecting for potential donors, along with other ad hoc duties as needed. This 12-month internship offers an exciting opportunity for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in a non-profit environment, with a keen interest in higher education or curiosity about the tech startup space. The ideal candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to completing the full internship programme.
Key responsibilities:Business partnerships (corporate giving)- Searching online and offline resources to identify potential businesses and funders the organisation can approach.
- Participating in prospect meetings by presenting information on your researched prospects.
- Updating the corporate analytics documents under the guidance of the Business Partnership Coordinator.
- Ensuring that the corporate prospects and researching sheet is up to date and has all the relevant information under the guidance of the business partnership coordinator.
- Updating corporate tracking sheets (income, reporting, proposals etc) and ensuring that the tracking sheets are up-to-date under the guidance of the business partnership coordinator.
- Contributing to organisational intelligence and analytics.
- Compiling meeting minutes and ensuring it is stored in an accurate location.
- Assisting the business partnership assistant (BPA) with compiling funder student lists.
- Assisting BPA with compiling student thank you notes and where are they now student reports.
- Assist BPA with disbursement admin (i.e. preparing folders, sending bursary agreements, etc.)
- Providing ad-hoc administrative support in donor acquisition and retention efforts.
Individual giving- Maintain donor records, track student gratitude letters, draft thank-you emails, and conduct donor check-in calls.
- Support individual giving campaigns (e.g. youth month, Mandela day) by assisting with donor toolkits, emails, and social media content.
- Conduct research on potential donors and corporate partners, and support donor segmentation and data tracking.
- Assist the Marketing Team in promoting fundraising campaigns, compile student success stories, and ensure branding consistency.
- Coordinate donor events and campaign logistics, manage gratitude letters, and provide administrative support to the Fundraising Team.

Qualifications and experience:- Education: A tertiary education qualification (degree or diploma)
- Experience: First-time jobseeker and currently unemployed (has not had a permanent job before)
Working envirinment:- In-office, full-time
- Monday to Friday, 08h00am to 17h00pm
