Purpose of the role

The Sales Consultant is responsible for generating leads, managing client relationships, and driving sales of residential or commercial properties. The role involves guiding clients through the full property sales process from initial enquiry and property viewings to closing deals while delivering exceptional client service and maintaining strong market knowledge.

Key responsibilities
  • Sales and client management
    • Source, qualify, and convert leads into successful property sales.
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, developers, and investors.
    • Conduct property viewings and presentations with professionalism and enthusiasm.
    • Negotiate offers, prepare sales documentation, and assist clients through the transaction process.
    • Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify referral opportunities.
  • Market and product knowledge
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of property listings, market trends, and competitor activity.
    • Provide clients with accurate advice on market conditions, pricing, and property availability.
    • Attend industry events, property launches, and networking sessions to build market presence.
  • Administrative and reporting
    • Manage listings and client information accurately on the company CRM system.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports and forecasts.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal and company requirements relating to property sales.
  • Customer experience
    • Deliver a professional, positive, and client-centred experience at every stage of the sales journey.
    • Uphold the company’s reputation through integrity, reliability, and service excellence.
Qualifications and experience
  • Matric (grade 12) essential.
  • A tertiary qualification in sales, marketing, or real estate will be advantageous.
  • Proven sales experience, preferably within the property, real estate, or financial services sector.
  • Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
  • Estate agency affairs obard (EAAB) registration or willingness to obtain it (if applicable).
Skills and attributes
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Target-driven with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • High level of professionalism and personal presentation.
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office and CRM systems).
