Hart, who presents the Algoa FM Top 30, received the 2013 MTN Radio Award for the Best Music show in South Africa. He was again nominated in 2014.

The Algoa FM Top 30, which is broadcast on Saturdays from 9am to noon has just been nominated for Best Weekend Show. He is also a nominee in the category of Best Afternoon Drive Show Presenter.

The Fast Lane, which he co-presents with Lauren Mungur, has been nominated in the Best Daytime Show category.

The 2013 winner of the Best Breakfast Show Presenter Award, Daron Mann, has again been nominated in this category.

There are five finalists in each category.

"We received a bumper crop of entries this year and adjudication was tough, but thorough," says Lance Rothschild, chief executive officer of the MTN Radio Awards.

"The finalists are definitely the cream of the crop from this year's entries, and I believe that this year's finalists have set a high standard for the industry as a whole."

Introduced in 2009, the MTN Radio Awards are now in their sixth year.

"Algoa FM's presenters and shows continue to be listed among the top five in the country. This puts us amongst the best in South Africa and we are extremely proud of our staff's achievements," says Algoa FM Operations Director, Alfie Jay.

Algoa FM's Creative Team was also nominated in three categories for the Algoa FM Heritage Day, Virtual Flag campaign. They were nominated in the following categories: Best Multi Channel Promotion; Best Programming Innovation; and Best Promotions Stunt/Event.

Listeners to the radio station were encouraged to send in colour-coded photographs of themselves. We managed to celebrate Heritage Day with our audience by making them the stars that shine so brightly on our Nation. Embedding them in the very fabric that is the flag, encouraged pride, kept South Africa "top of mind" and put Algoa FM at the centre of Heritage Day celebrations in our footprint.

"The 'creative' elements for this campaign were simply world class. Congratulations to everyone for their enthusiastic participation," says Jay.

The winners will be announced at a gala awards banquet hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre on Saturday, 18 April.
