Scan Display wins exhibition industry 'Oscar'

The Exhibition Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) presented Scan with the award in the 'System 101 to 200m²' category. The winning stand was created for Voith Turbo (Pty) Ltd for Electra Mining 2006.

Voith Turbo (Pty) Ltd is a subsidiary of multi national Voith Turbo Vertriebsgesellschaft GmbH, Germany, which develops and produces sophisticated drive technology offering high quality components, systems and services to industry, rail, road and marine sectors world-wide.

Alan de Beer, Scan's Senior Exhibition Architect who designed the stand, says that it was designed according to the holding company's corporate look-and-feel. He believes the exhibit's height and lighting made it stand out. The excessive use of 500w halogen lighting cast a spectacular white light on the stand.

Andrew Stewart, Scan's Sales Director, says that, while height and light were major factors in the stand's success, it was the finishes that made it a winner: "There was absolutely no compromising on the quality of the finishes and the attention to detail resulted in a very polished final product."

Roy Webster, Marketing Manager of Voith Turbo (Pty) Ltd, was delighted with the end result. He says the Scan-designed and -built stand is his most successful stand in over 12 years of exhibiting.

"The stand was a success from both a design and a business point of view. Scan did a superb job of interpreting the German-issued guidelines and we received an impressive number of compliments from visitors, both local and International."

Scan has won EXSA's annual Stand Awards consistently since they were introduced in 2003.
