Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organised fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English) Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of their labour consulting practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Industrial Relations (IR) and Human Resources (HR) and will be responsible for ensuring smooth office functions, managing staff, supporting consultants, and ensuring compliance with labour laws and HR best practices.
Key responsibilities:Office management:- Oversee and coordinate day-to-day office operations.
- Maintain office systems, including data management.
- Manage supplies, equipment, and service providers.
- Supervise administrative support staff.
- Organise internal meetings and maintain schedules for consultants.
Human resources (HR):- Handle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Maintain employee records in compliance with HR legislation.
- Assist with performance management, training coordination, and policy implementation.
- Ensure the office is compliant with employment law and health and safety regulations.
Industrial relations (IR):- Assist in preparing for disciplinary hearings, CCMA cases, and grievance procedures.
- Draft warnings, disciplinary documents, and other IR-related correspondence.
- Provide administrative support to consultants on client IR cases.
- Keep abreast of changes in labour legislation and ensure the company’s procedures are compliant.
Client and consultant support:- Provide administrative assistance to labour consultants.
- Prepare documentation and reports for client meetings.
- Maintain client databases and case tracking systems.
Qualifications and skills:- Matric (Grade 12)
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations, or a related field
- 8+ years’ experience in an administrative or office management role, preferably within a labour/law/HR consultancy
- Proven knowledge and experience in HR and IR practices
- Familiar with CCMA procedures, the BCEA, LRA, and related legislation
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite, HRIS systems)
- Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
