One of South Africa's most loved
media brands is searching for a senior person to fill their
head of commercial position. The person will be responsible for leading and managing revenue generation, brand partnerships, and sales growth across both traditional and digital platforms. This role will ensure the seamless integration of sales strategies, commercial initiatives, and brand channel strategies while driving profitable revenue growth. The incumbent will be instrumental in leading the regional sales team, building strong client relationships, and managing key commercial initiatives to meet revenue targets and enhance the brand's presence in the market.
The incumbent will also be required to:- Formulate and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives, including identifying target markets, setting sales targets, and creating go-to-market strategies.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive revenue strategy for both traditional and digital sales, sponsorships, and commercial partnerships, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Lead and mentor the regional and sales teams, creating a client-centric, high-performance culture across the business.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to align sales and brand strategies, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
- Drive data-led solutions for monetizing audience insights and create innovative advertising products for clients.
- Oversee the pricing strategies and monitor revenue forecasts, providing leadership on sales projections and driving financial growth.
Some of the skills required include:- Experience in growing non-traditional media revenue, especially in the digital and data-driven space.
- Experience managing sales teams across regional and national portfolios.
- Ability to leverage analytics and audience insights in sales pitches.
- Strong background in market research, trade marketing, and CRM.

Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, brand management, business, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of senior media sales and commercial leadership experience, with a proven track record in achieving sales growth.
- Experience in managing digital and traditional advertising sales strategies.
- Experience in developing and maintaining high-level client and agency relationships.
- Proficiency in strategic planning, problem-solving, and revenue management.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills.
