The candidate will be responsible for the following:
Investigations and complaints of improper conduct- Assist the Investigating Committee on section 28 of the Act 44 of 2000 mandate to Investigate complaints of improper conduct;
- Assist the Investigating Committee to investigate complaints of improper conduct received from members of the public;.
- Assist the Investigating Committee in investigating the complaints of improper conduct initiated by any business unit within SACAP and referred to the Legal and Compliance Unit.;
- Gather information relevant to the investigation of allegations made;
- Timely conclusion of investigations
- Prepare quality investigation reports
- Maintain an effective filing system and prepare Investigating Committee files.
- Ensure compliance with the Standard Operating Procedure.
- Understanding of the of the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act of 2000;
Professional service support- Assist with the provision of professional guidance to SACAP, stakeholders, and Local Authorities..
- Monitor compliance about SACAP’s legal, regulatory, and statutory aspects of its mandate;
- Assist with the adherence to the Act and the Code of Conduct;
- Conduct presentations on the Act and the Code of Conduct
- Drafting of legal contracts such as Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Employment Contracts, Consultancy Agreements; and Project Contracts.
Management reporting- Assist with the compilation of Management reports to the Registrar, EXCO, Council and the Investigating Committee
- Ensure accurate reporting
Requirements- Matric/ Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Bachelor of Laws/BProc degree
- Postgraduate qualification in compliance, arbitration, and/or dispute resolution will be an added advantage
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience
- General Litigation
- Drafting experience
- Report Writing
