We’re Hiring: Designer (Print & Graphic Specialist)
Location: Cape Town (Northern Suburbs) | Type: Permanent | Experience: 5+ years

Are you a creative thinker with a passion for print, pattern, and designing? We’re looking for a Designer to join our fast-paced team and help shape standout designs through trend-led graphic and CAD development. This is a permanent position based in Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs.

Key responsibilities

Research and concept development
  • Conduct trend research and collect references for prints, graphics, and styling
  • Propose new print and styling ideas for seasonal updates
  • Document and photograph sample purchases from research trips

CAD design and development
  • Design CADs (prints, patterns, embellishments) aligned to buyer briefs
  • Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to finalise and refine CADs
  • Adapt and update designs based on feedback

Technical execution and production files
  • Use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CorelDRAW to create and refine placement graphics and repeat patterns
  • Convert CADs into print-ready formats (AI, PDF, PSD, TIFF, EPS, PNG)
  • Provide accurate sizing, Pantone color specs, and print technique instructions for manufacturers

Order processing and finalisation
  • Process and submit production files to factories after buyer approval
  • Ensure all artwork is archived for future reference

Collaboration
  • Support booking and range-building meetings alongside buyers and merchandisers
  • Modify artwork following buyer reviews and strike-off feedback
  • Support the licensing/character team with approvals, coordination, and design development

File mangement
  • Maintain structured file systems for all brand and licensed design assets
  • Update design libraries with consistent branding, fonts, and textures 

Who should apply?

  • A qualified designer (fashion or graphic design background preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a design role within the retail, apparel, or textile sector
  • Strong portfolio showcasing CAD development, trend-led print design, and production-ready artwork
  • Licensing experience is advantageous but not essential
To ensure a high standard of creativity, efficiency, and consistency, all applicants must meet the following baseline proficiencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically:
    • Photoshop (editing, retouching, manipulation)
    • Illustrator (vector design, typography)
    • Coral Draw (design)

  • Solid understanding of composition, color theory, balance, and typography
  • Ability to deliver visually consistent work aligned with brand guidelines

3. File Management and production
  • Well-organised file handling across digital and print production workflows
  • Knowledge of formats, resolution, and color modes for manufacturing, web, and social media

4. Creativity and problem-solving
  • Ability to conceptualize original design solutions
  • Detail-oriented and resourceful with strong troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable adapting to evolving trends and diverse project types

5. Communication and collaboration
  • Open to feedback and direction
  • Excellent communication skills for working cross-functionally

6. Time management and adaptability
  • Can manage tight deadlines across multiple projects
  • Self-driven with a proactive approach to learning and improvement
