Key purpose of the role

The programmatic specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of programmatic trading for Primedia Broadcasting. This includes managing open auction, preferred deal, and programmatic guaranteed advertising across Primedia-managed platforms. The role requires building strong relationships with buying agencies, optimising programmatic processes, and driving revenue growth, while maintaining high levels of operational efficiency and innovation within the ad operations team. The individual must stay up to date with emerging technologies in the programmatic trading space from a sell-side perspective and lead the evaluation and potential integration of these technologies into Primedia’s advertising technology stack.

Key performance areas

Programmatic trading management:
Successful management and optimisation of programmatic campaigns across platforms.

Agency relationship management:
Establishment and maintenance of strong relationships with key buying agencies, resulting in preferred deals and strategic partnerships.

Campaign optimisation and revenue growth:
Ongoing monitoring and refinement of programmatic campaigns to improve performance, efficiency, and profitability.

Reporting and analysis:
Delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable reports on programmatic performance, trends, and forecasts.

Innovation and strategy development:
Proactive identification and evaluation of new programmatic strategies or technologies to enhance performance and support growth.

Minimum required qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of programmatic platforms (e.g., Google DV360, The Trade Desk, Google Ad Manager and other SSPs) and RTB (real-time bidding) processes.
  • Computer Literacy e.g. Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
Qualifications considered advantageous:
  • Certification in programmatic advertising or digital marketing (e.g., Google Ads, IAB, or similar).
  • Experience with cross-platform campaign management (radio + display).
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Experience in building dashboards using tools like Google Data Studio, Tableau, or Power BI.
Minimum years of experience:
  • Minimum three proven experience in programmatic advertising, preferably within the digital radio and video environment or display advertising sectors.
Additional role requirements:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure while managing multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and shifting priorities
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of media buying strategies and the broader digital advertising ecosystem.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, extract insights, and continuously optimize campaigns to drive maximum return on investment (ROI).
