Key purpose of role

The purpose of the Producer role is to define, shape, and deliver the sound of The Flash Drive and Station Kfm 94.5 across platforms, ensuring audio excellence, creativity, and consistency.
The producer is responsible for the end-to-end creative, technical, and operational delivery of show audio, overseeing everything from concept development and production to broadcast execution and post-production.
This includes shaping the overall audio identity of the show, producing and editing content that enhances storytelling, ensuring broadcast-quality standards are consistently met, and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
The role also requires adapting content for multiple platforms, maintaining compliance with industry regulations, and collaborating with on-air talent, producers, and technical teams to deliver a seamless, engaging audio experience that reflects the Station’s brand and strategy and well as The Flash Drive’s brand and identity.

Serve traditional audiences by producing exceptional sound for the show:

Provide audio programming support as well as general programming support to presenters, producers as part of a show team.

Support campaign executions with audio production and general team support:
Produce high-quality audio content and general team support to execute commercial campaigns.

Serve digital audiences by producing show audio for Primedia + and social media:
Produce high-quality, audience-focused digital audio content.

Minimum required qualification:
  • Relevant audio or technical qualification
Minimum years of experience:
  • 3 years’ experience in radio or a related field
Additional role requirements:
  • Act as the sound of the show custodian: edit, produce, and create audio to define the sound of the show and the station
  • Assist with station audio requirements, including radio awards, interview recordings for this and other shows, and audio edits
  • Provide feedback to managers, hosts and producers on audio and technical issues
  • Monitor audio levels and use quality audio (e.g., sound clips, calls, and voice notes) on-air
  • Participate in post-show debriefs and complete required administrative tasks
  • Deliver on digital tasks, such as loading podcasts and ensuring the correct digital collateral is uploaded error-free
  • Create show promos
  • Execute daily logs
  • Notify the programming coordinator or commercial coordinator of any operational issues relating to playout of spots or commercial campaign executions
  • Cut and upload audio to Primedia Plus as required by the station
  • Be responsible for prerecording interviews and associated quality control
  • Notify the music compiler or programme manager of any operational issues relating to playout of music, ads or any audio
  • Identify problems in operational processes and resolve them promptly
  • Ensure no contravention of constitution, laws, or codes
  • Work with IT/Tech teams to ensure technical issue-free broadcasts
  • Perform quality control on music played on-air
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures
  • Support and contribute to projects, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Stay up to date with the latest advances in studio technology and broadcasting trends
  • Bridge the intersection between technical, IT, and broadcasting requirements
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and execute creative ideas
