STADIO (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications for the position of: Lecturer: FP Mathematics (Foundation Phase Studies/Mathematics, Science and Technology/Teaching Practice
Start date January 2026
Key roles and responsibilities:- Lecture and assess contact learning students in the BEd (foundation phase teaching) programme in the following modules:
- Mathematics for foundation phase 1 MFP201
- Mathematics for foundation phase 2 MFP301
- Mathematics for foundation phase 3 MFP402
- Institutional teaching practice 2 ITP200
- School-based teaching practice 2 TPR200
- Institutional teaching practice 4 ITP402
- School-based teaching practice 4 TPR401
- Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
- Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules.
- Participate in relevant programme, curriculum, and material development.
- Carry out allocated internal moderation responsibilities.
- Carry out invigilation of venue-based assessments as reasonably required by the Registrar’s Office.
- Participate in school-based teaching practice assessments.
- Provide academic support to students.
- Complete all quality assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.
- Participate in research and community engagement projects.
- Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.
- Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with all policies and SOPs.
- Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.
- 1Fulfill functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.
- Fulfill all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.
Minimum requirements - At least 3 years of teaching and /or lecturing experience in the relevant phase/discipline
- Must have a relevant teaching qualification.
- Knowledge and understanding of the diverse subject matter, as well as work-based learning (teaching practice).
- Experience in online teaching and learning environments.
Qualification:Minimum bachelor of education honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in the foundation phase mathematics
Skills and abilities required- Sound teaching and assessment skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational, time management, and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to cope with change.
- Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
