Job description
ROLE PURPOSEThe Financial Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Head Financial Accountant with processing of daily transactions and bank reconciliations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORK OUTPUTS
- Assisting with processing of daily transactions and bank reconciliations.
- Capturing of daily supplier invoices.
- Reconciling supplier invoices to S2S system.
- Assisting with other daily reconciliations.
- Assisting with the preparation of month-end accounts.
- Examining financial records to check for accuracy.
- Capturing of debtor invoices and reconciliations
- Following up of outstanding debtors and assisting with debtor related queries
- Daily, Monthly. Quarterly and Annually reporting.
- Optimising and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary.
Requirements
- BCom Financial Accounting or similar Accounting degree – essential.
- 5+ years’ experience – essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and Advanced Computer literacy skills.
- Knowledge of South Africa tax legislation, understanding of financial controls.
- Experience with Xero accounting system – essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills - Afrikaans and English essential.
- Working experience within retail / Fintech environment – ideal.
- Willingness to work remotely / in Stellenbosch offices.
- Driver’s licence and own reliable transport - essential.
- South African citizen.
