BD SA also scored a first in its sector of medical diagnostics, a second place as the Best Small-sized Employer and third as the Best Empowered Employer.

Mehlape says that BD SA is proud to share the top 10 space with some of the giants of South African industry, such as Coca-Cola, Dimension Data and MTN. Overall, 55 South African companies were assessed and ranked by this year's Best Employers survey.
BD strives to maintain a balanced representation of all demographic groups at management level and regards investment in skills development as an imperative for sustainability in the market.
