Registration open for TETA's annual Women Empowerment Summit

The Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) will host its annual TETA Women Empowerment Summit via three virtual events to be held on 21, 23 and 26 October respectively.

TETA CEO, Maphefo Anno-Frempong, says the summit is aimed at assisting female entrepreneurs in the transport sector identify business opportunities amidst disruptions and challenges in the transport sector, as well as providing them with a platform to network, irrespective of their physical locations.

"Further, the event highlights relevant broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) opportunities and provides entrepreneurs with industry-related insights and trends, as well as the relevant business advice to succeed," she explains.

The three virtual summit events will be broadcast from 9am to 12:00, with the first event on 21 October 2020 aimed at entrepreneurs in Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

The second event will be hosted on 23 October 2020 for the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape regions and the final event on 26 October 2020 for the North West, Northern Cape and Free State regions.

Topics for discussion include:

• How human factors and ergonomics improve safety and efficiency in transport sector operations;

• Using seta opportunities to grow businesses;

• How to access private and public sector business funding opportunities; and

• How to take a transport sector business from a to z.
