'Cycle 4 Cansa' event takes off at Sun City

The 'Cycle 4 Cansa' weekend, taking place from 15-16 August, is expected to attract a strong field featuring top-class athletes who will focus their energies on two cycle events hosted at the resort. On 15 August, the cyclists will compete in a road race, while on the second day, 16 August, an exciting new route will see them test their skills on mountain bikes over a different terrain.

An important facet of this promotion is that the 'Cycle 4 Cansa' weekend will help spread a vital message among cyclists, that Cancer can be beaten.

The Powerade Lost City Cycle event has been running successfully at Sun City for 17 years. Over the past four years the Bestmed Lost City mountain bike event was added to the activities. Sun City, as the flagship property of Sun International, has played host to the event since its inception and is once again giving its support and commitment by providing the facilities needed to execute a successful and exciting cycle challenge.

Mike van Vuuren, Managing Executive of Sun City, is excited about the partnership: "As a group, we are always looking to make a difference in the communities our properties are found in. The aim of this event is to help raise awareness and funds while providing an exciting weekend for all."

'Cycle for Cansa' is sponsored by Sun City the flagship property of Sun International, Powerade, Bestmed, The Citizen, My SOS, SAB, PVM, High 5, New Concept Mining, The Bicycle Company and Action Hotos. There are many activities aimed at children's entertainment throughout the weekend, making it a real family affair. Entry to Sun City is free for all participants, family members and spectators, provided they are through the gates before 06h30.
