The South African Football Association's (SAFA) National Executive Committee (NEC) has congratulated the National under 20 team (Amajita) for qualifying for the FIFA World Championships scheduled for Egypt later this year. Amajita's accomplishment is a result of back to back victories against Ivory Coast and Nigeria in the CAF under 20 youth championships currently underway in Rwanda. Amajita's last group match is against Egypt on Monday.

In another matter carried over from last year; SAFA has appointed a three men committee to kick off the Legal Commission of Inquiry into football matters in the Western Cape. The committee will be headed by advocate Vincent Maleka; with Zola Majavu and Michael Murphy assisting him.

SAFA CEO Raymond Hack says the commission is expected to conduct the business in three days, and then submit the report with recommendations for consideration by the NEC in the next meeting scheduled for March.

“In terms of a Resolution of the Association's NEC taken at its meeting on 28 November 2008, the committee resolved to institute and conduct a Legal Commission of Inquiry into the affairs of the Region previously known as SAFA Western Province, as well as the activities of SAFA Cape Town prior to the appointment of its current administrator”, says Hack.
