Challenge of the Champions

On 11 April the current IPL 20/20 champions Rajasthan Royals will play the Nashua Cape Cobras, the Standard Bank Pro20 champions, at Sahara Park Newlands in the first match in South Africa between Indian and South African domestic teams.

Please note that originally a second game was also advertised for Sunday 12th, but this will no longer take place as the IPL requires host venues to be clear for the six days before the tournament, and Cape Town fully supports making the tournament a success.

The prices for the one-off ‘Challenge of the Champions” warm-up game are R40 for adults and R20 for scholars. Children under 12 will be allowed in free to the grass areas if accompanied by an adult.

2 000 free tickets have also been reserved for the first 20 schools to contact the Western Province Cricket Association. Please contact Camillah at 012-6572061 or 021-657 2003.

For general ticket enquiries please contact Wendy Punt at 021-657 2042 or 021-657 2089.

Please also note that ticket prices and details for the official IPL tournament will be announced in the next few days by IPL working in tandem with Cricket South Africa.
