Maradona: "Bilardo betrayed me"

After a few weeks of silence former Argentinean coach and football legend Diego Maradona has finally spoken up regarding his removal as the national coach.
Maradona: "Bilardo betrayed me"

Maradona pointed a finger at his predecessor Carlos Bilardo.

"Bilardo betrayed me. While we were still mourning the loss to Germany he was working in the shadows." Now Diego can't play the blame game when he has some of the best players in the world.

What can you expect when you leave your senior players, such as Riquelme, Zanneti and Cambiasso at home twiddling their thumbs, and hope that Messi can carry the team? After stumbling through qualifying rounds, Maradona continued to select a team as if blindfolded. How were Messi, Aguero and the rest of team supposed to work together if they were being changed more than some people change their socks?

On paper Argentina seemed like the better team before the Germany game, but that's paper not the grass pitch. Argentina were totally outplayed, and it was obvious that Germany just had to close down Messi to triumph, and that was that for Diego's dream.

Now, at this point it's easy to blame someone else, but to admit that you couldn't do the job you promised would paint a better picture to the public.
