Jägermeister in touch with SA music

South Africa has a wide variety of amazing musical talent and local acts that would give any international band a run for its money. The sheer amount of amazing talent that South Africa has on offer made choosing only a handful of bands that Jägermeister would support for 2009 impossible. “There was only one solution for us, it merely meant that we could choose more bands to be sponsored by Jägermeister,” explains Jarrod Stewart, Jägermeister South Africa Brand Manager.

This has resulted in an astonishing 18 bands being selected that will keep the Jägermeister spirit alive in 2009. Each of these brings something new and different to the music scene while their passion for their art is completely infectious.

So, after scouring the SA music scene, endless hours listening to CDs and even more nights spent undercover at events, Jägermeister is proud to announce the first bands that will be sponsored by the number 1 shooter brand in South Africa until the end of January 2010.

- All Forlorn
- Ashtray Electric
- Autopilot
- The Black Hotels
- Desmond and the Tutus
- Die Heuwels Fantasies
- Knave
- Van Coke Kartel

These bands will be keeping the Jägermeister spirit alive and kicking in the South African music scene. The support offered by Jägermeister ranges from tour sponsorship, marketing collateral, exclusive Jägermeister events and of course providing enough of the famous green bottle with the stag on it to last a year.

“The torch has now been passed on to these bands, who can now continue to create and share their unique sound with South Africa and the world,” adds Stewart. The next set of bands will be announced throughout the course of May. For more information on the bands and gig dates join the Facebook group
