aKING released their second full-length album “Against all Odds” in May 2009. Following the runaway success of their first full length album “Dutch Courage”. Dubbed as the boys from Belville they have been described as suburban poets. aKING have been nominated for an MTV Africa (MAMA) Award 2009.
Jamali (Jacqui, Mariechan and Liesl,) are the all-girl group with the hot sound. Three young women, all vocally and lyrically talented way beyond their collective years. Bright, vital and desirable, their debut album hit gold and pure gold is what they give on stage with their smattering of house R&B, and Afro Pop, these girls offer and infectious and melodious encounter. Hot on the heels of their hugely successful tour of India, South Africa's premier rock band Prime Circle continue to celebrate with news that their third album and EMI debut “All Or Nothing” has just gone platinum. Their third single, Consider Me, lifted from “All or Nothing”, went straight in at the number one position just one week after the last show had been performed. Upon their return to South Africa the same song topped the national chart too.

Founded in late 2004, indie-rockers The Dirty Skirts quickly gathered a tidy reputation for mesmerising live shows, cocky, spiky indie pop and a sound that held relevance beyond South Africa's borders. Winners of the inaugural Red Bull Soundclash, this quirky group continue to entertain with their latest release Daddy Don't Disco.
Sweeping across the garden, the melodic sounds of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra is always a special occasion. With conductor Pieter Daniel, sit back and relax with Rossini's La gazza ladra Overture. Acclaimed classical guitarist James Grace is the soloist with the haunting Spanish Concierto De Aranjuez by Rodrigo and the closing item is Tchaikovsky's Symphony No 4.
Watershed has an audience that spans generations and their popularity extends globally. In South Africa and Europe, however, Watershed is better defined as the band around songwriter and lead singer Craig Hinds - one of the most popular export products the Rainbow Nation has on offer. Their latest album “Staring at the Ceiling” was released in August 2008 and has already reached gold status in South Africa. Effortlessly joining the success of its predecessors, all three single releases from this fourth album, (Breathing, Train Ride and Future Sunshine), went instantaneously top 10 in the SA Airplay Charts. Watershed owns a style which is not typically pop, not typically rock, but simply Watershed.
Original reggae music with traditional African musical influences, like maskandi and mbaqanga is what Tidal Waves' fame is built upon. The sound is original roots reggae with strong rock, ska and blues strands. Tidal Waves are widely respected in South African music circles as an honest, hard-working band with an original sound, vibes and a dynamic live performance. Bringing Tumi Molekane on stage with them is a stroke of genius as this young man - MC, poet and wordsmith - brings his own honest lyrics into the mix and inspires with his social relevance.
