When Serite was commissioned to produce Skeem Saam she was new to TV drama production and it was agreed she would need a supervising producer to develop mentorship relations to fulfil all the objectives of the production. David Brown was selected to play the role of mentor to Serite and advise and help set up the Skeem Saam production.
SABC Education is delighted to announce that the series exceeded all targets set by SABC1 coming second best in terms of audience share and revenue targets. SABC is re-commissioning Skeem Saam for another season and this time Winnie is flying solo as executive producer.
Serite has an honours degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand and a post-graduate Diploma in Management from Wits Business School. After completing her studies in 2000, she cut her teeth in television working for Isidingo, spending eight years on the scriptwriting team. She also gained experience working on Muvhango, Soul Buddyz, Take 5, Zero Tolerance and Thobela FM dramas.
