deVere appoints new head of Africa division

Having started with deVere as a business coordinator in 2003, Stockton's career trajectory has seen him progress from consultant to senior area manager. He has been based in various deVere Group offices including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Dubai and Qatar.

Now, as deVere Africa's manager, he will be responsible for 11 offices and lead a team of more than 250 people across the continent. Stockton, who starts his new position with immediate effect, will report directly to deVere Group's founder and chief executive, Nigel Green.

"We're delighted to confirm Greg as deVere's new manager of Africa," Green says. "This appointment is particularly exciting and rewarding as he moves into this role having steadily and diligently advanced his career through the company's promotion structure from starting as a business coordinator a little over ten years ago.

Fresh perspective

"Greg represents how we're committed to fast-tracking the careers of talented, successful, motivated individuals from within the organisation, wherever possible. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new position, not to mention honed leadership qualities and an in-depth understanding of the industry and deVere's business and clients. I have every confidence that he will bring a fresh perspective to the region, building on an already impressive track record, and ensure we're continuing to offer a world-class service to clients whilst continuing to grow in an increasingly competitive environment," Green says.

"I look forward to working alongside Africa's outstanding team and realising our vision to build upon an already successful region to allow us to offer our market-leading products and services to clients in every corner of the continent," Stockton says. "deVere is looking to expand into new territories as part of a longer term strategic growth plan; however, at this initial stage ensuring the current network of offices are as efficient as possible is key."

Stockton will be based in deVere's office in Cape Town.
