Energizer donates library to primary school

As part of Energizer's worldwide 'That's Positivenergy' campaign, designed to encourage you to make a positive difference to the world, Energizer set out to contribute 'Positivenergy' to the community. This communication platform was brought to life in South Africa by offering great opportunities to participate in exciting activities.

Energizer commissioned young, aspiring artists to design a sculpture using Energizer batteries. The funds raised through the sculpture initiative were utilised to provide much needed portable Energizer Libraries to one of the READ Educational Trust's literacy projects at the Motheo Foundation Primary School in Lawley.

Library is portable

Housed in a specially-made cabinet, each portable Energizer Library contains a range of books chosen to meet the school's specific needs, ranging from books for the Foundation Phase to encyclopaedias and dictionaries for the Intermediate Phase. Compact enough to stay in a classroom, their portability makes them flexible enough to be moved when required.

"Since reading is one of the prime focuses of READ's commitment to education we are most grateful to Energizer for their Positivenergy. These libraries will certainly help Motheo's learners become responsible adults who can make a positive impact on South Africa's future," said Lizellle Langford, READ Educational Trust PR.
