First local wind turbine manufacturer to create hundreds of green jobs

According to Business Live, Greenpeace Africa's South African Energy Sector Jobs to 2030 Report argues that focusing on renewable energy, such as solar and wind, would create 78 000 new permanent and full-time jobs in the next 20 years, while remaining focused on carbon, including coal fired power plants, would add only 46 000.

Thomas Schaal, founder of SA's first wind turbine manufacturer, Isivunguvungu Wind Energy Converter (I-WEC) agrees, reports Business Live. He believes that, should the South African government genuinely commit to renewable energy, it could curb our nation's carbon footprint and pave the way for thousands of new, sustainable jobs.
