Sales Consultant / RepresentativeA client in the forestry industry is looking for a sales consultant/representative to join their team based in George. The suitable candidate will have experience within the industry and must be knowledgeable about outdoor power equipment. Key responsibilities:Sales and customer service: - Promote and sell outdoor power equipment, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other machinery.
- Identify customer needs and provide expert advice on equipment selection and usage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Provide product demonstrations and answer technical questions to enhance customer satisfaction.
Business development: - Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and market share in the local market.
- Identify potential leads and grow the customer base through outreach, networking, and referrals.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, new products, and competitor offerings to effectively position the company’s products.
Inventory and order management: - Assist in managing inventory levels and coordinating with the warehouse team for timely delivery of products.
- Process sales orders, ensure correct documentation, and coordinate follow-up on orders and deliveries.
Reporting and targets: - Achieve and exceed individual sales targets set by the company.
- Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates to management.
- Monitor and analyse customer sales data to adjust sales strategies as needed.
Key requirements:Experience: - Minimum of two to three years of sales experience, preferably in outdoor power equipment, hardware, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of lawn and garden machinery (lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, etc.) is highly desirable.
Skills: - Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to provide technical product knowledge and equipment demonstrations.
- Proficiency in sales software and inventory management systems.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
Personality traits: - Self-motivated and results-oriented with a passion for sales.
- Friendly and approachable demeanour, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Education: - Matric (Grade 12) is required. A relevant sales or technical qualification is an advantage.
