Our client in the trucking industry is seeking a regional sales manager to join their team in the Kempton Park area. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in commercial vehicle sales and a strong understanding of dealer operations. Requirements: - Tertiary sales qualification
- Minimum five years' experience in a similar role
- Code 8 licence and own vehicle
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience in the commercial/truck industry
Duties and responsibilities: - Oversee and enforce company policies and procedures within the dealer business to ensure staff in the sales and aftersales departments are supported effectively
- Monitor available training within the dealer network to ensure consistent attendance, and assist dealer principals in setting up staff training plans
- Participate in relevant training programmes and mentor internal staff to ensure continuity and back-up plans
- Monitor staff morale at dealers and branches, addressing areas that could impact the company's brand
- Manage work efficiently, fostering high-quality work ethics among dealer and branch staff
- Support dealers in achieving 100% vehicle sales targets
- Oversee financial management, budget control, and asset management, ensuring adherence to operational budgets and preventing unnecessary costs
- Control dealers' debtor books, ensuring payments for parts and vehicle stock are settled within company policy timeframes
- Manage vehicle assets, ensuring demo and loan unit usage is within agreed parameters
- Conduct dealer visits at least six times per year, providing feedback and addressing any concerns
- Collaborate with dealers to develop and follow up on business plans, ensuring measurable improvements are tracked and evaluated
- Assist in resolving dealer business challenges, applying the PDCA cycle for practical solutions
- Work with the internal marketing team to implement successful marketing efforts at dealers, promoting brand awareness and leveraging sales
- Ensure customer complaints are managed positively to protect the brand
- Support branches and dealers in obtaining and retaining key accounts through scheduled visits
- Acquire specialist knowledge within specific segments to act as a subject matter expert both internally and within the dealer network
- Stay informed of industry trends and needs to optimise company sales and share insights with colleagues
