"Pettifogging" trends on social media after use at Trump's impeachment trial
Mail Online reports that the word "pettifogging" is trending on social media after it was used by jurist John Roberts during the opening day of Donald Trump's impeachment trial.
Pettifogging means to focus unnecessarily on petty details, especially when employing underhanded legal methods.
The word was used by Roberts amid bitter attacks between Republicans and Democrats at the trial.
