Mpho Mahura awarded creative scholarship

Grant Rightford, MD of Orrey, Rightford and Drysdale Group has again awarded Mpho Mahura the Orrey, Rightford and Drysdale Future Scholarship for 2004.

Mahura was the first beneficiary of the Orrey, Rightford and Drysdale Future Scholarship in 2003. He is now in his second year at the Red & Yellow School of Advertising and is studying copywriting.

The Future Scholarship is designed to offer a black student the opportunity to study either client services or a creative course at the Red & Yellow School of Advertising in Cape Town. The motivation for the scholarship is to encourage young, black graduates to take up a career in advertising and to empower them with the skills to do so.

Mahura's progress was reviewed by Brian Searle-Tripp, course director at the Red & Yellow School of Advertising. Searle-Tripp recommended that the 20-year-old, who hails from Pretoria, continue to receive the scholarship.

After Mahura has completed his studies he will take up a position at ORD's office in Cape Town.
