Code 14 Driver with PDP

Our client is looking for a responsible and experienced Code 14 Driver to join their logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a valid Code 14 license with a PDP and a solid track record of safe and efficient driving. The role involves the transportation of goods and materials across various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries while upholding safety standards and excellent service.

Salary / CTC: R 15 000 (Depending on current earnings, qualifications, and experience)

Key Responsibilities:
Driving Duties:

• Operate heavy-duty vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and company policies.
• Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness.
• Drive long and short distances efficiently, ensuring goods are transported securely.

Delivery & Collection:

• Load and offload goods safely, ensuring minimal risk of damage.
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries and collections as per daily route schedules.
• Verify and check delivery documentation for accuracy.

Customer Interaction:

• Maintain a professional and friendly demeanour during deliveries and collections.
• Communicate effectively with clients and update them on expected delivery times if needed.

Vehicle Care & Maintenance:

• Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the vehicle.
• Report any faults, damages, or required maintenance to the fleet supervisor immediately.

Administrative Tasks:

• Accurately complete all delivery documentation, including trip sheets and fuel logs.
• Record mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance checks as required.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

• Adhere to company and legal safety regulations at all times.
• Participate in health and safety meetings and training sessions when required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid Code 14 Driver’s License with valid PDP.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Code 14 driver.
• Strong knowledge of road safety, routes in and around Kempton Park and Johannesburg, and transportation regulations.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
• Physically fit to assist with loading/unloading duties.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Matric / Grade 12 preferred.
• Must reside in or near Pomona, Kempton Park

Additional Requirements

• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
• Experience using GPS and route navigation apps.
• Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics is advantageous.
