Now in its 19th year, Dialogue Communications is one of South Africa’s leading independent communications agencies. With a Level 2 BEE rating, award-winning campaigns, and a client base spanning financial services, telecoms, sports, FMCG and hospitality, we are expanding our footprint to Johannesburg to better serve our national client portfolio.

Establishing a new office is a huge move for us. Honestly, we’re a little nervous - growth is wild. But we’re doing it. We have the right business model, the right mix of clients and now we need to find someone to lead this office with us.


Your role
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial Agency Lead to solidify and grow our Johannesburg office. This is a senior, high-impact role for a well-connected professional who can open doors, retain deep client relationships, and drive business growth.

You will be the face of Dialogue in Gauteng, accountable for delivering world-class communication and to build a high-performing senior local team.


Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Johannesburg office in line with agreed KPIs for revenue, profitability, and client retention.

• Represent Dialogue at the highest levels with boards, C-suite executives, and industry stakeholders.

• Build and manage a client portfolio with emphasis on financial services and telecommunications.

• Drive business development: identify opportunities, lead pitches, and secure new business.

• Oversee delivery of strategic, creative, and media engagement work with authority and confidence.

• Recruit, mentor, and inspire a talented team while building a positive, entrepreneurial culture.

• Collaborate closely with the Cape Town office and Group leadership to align strategy, operations, and client delivery.

What we’re looking for

• Proven senior agency or corporate comms experience (10+ years) with a strong track record in financial services and telecoms. This is a non-negotiable.

• Well-connected in Gauteng business, media, and stakeholder networks.

• Gravitas and confidence to hold your own in the boardroom and engage C-suite decision-makers. This is a non-negotiable.

• Strong new business and pitching ability – able to strategically articulate work with authority and confidence.

• Entrepreneurial drive with a builder’s mindset – excited to create and scale a new office. This is important. You want to build something with us, not just have a job.

• Exceptional communication, leadership, and commercial understanding.
