Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies across diverse industries (mining, engineering, property).
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation for projects and business units.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting in line with IFRS, the companies act, and mining/property sector regulations.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and funding for large-scale capital projects and property developments.
- Drive financial controls, cost efficiencies, and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with SARS, CIPC, and industry-specific regulatory bodies.
- Lead investor relations, financing negotiations, and stakeholder engagement.
- Conduct feasibility studies, project evaluations, and due diligence on acquisitions and partnerships.
- Build and manage a high-performance finance and administration team.
Qualifications:
- Chartered accountant (SA) – CA(SA) designation essential.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in finance/business (advantageous).
- Strong knowledge of mining and property-related finance advantageous.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen across mining, crushing & screening, and property.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Expert knowledge of IFRS, corporate law, and tax legislation.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multi-entity group structures and large-scale projects.
- 10–15 years’ progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years at executive/CFO level.
- Proven track record in mining, engineering, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Experience in property development or real estate financial management advantageous.
- Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, capital raising, and project finance highly desirable.
- Strategic and visionary leadership.
- Commercially astute and results-driven.
- Ethical, transparent, and principled in decision-making.
- Resilient and adaptable to dynamic business environments.
- Capable of balancing operational oversight with long-term strategy.
- Based at the head office in Colbyn, Pretoria.
- Requires regular travel to mining operations and property sites.
- High-pressure environment with multi-industry responsibility.
