Senior appointments at Ogilvy Joburg

Ogilvy Johannesburg last week announced three senior appointments in line with its vision of liberating brands, as well as the talent within the agency.

Sharleen James takes on the role of director of account management, and continues her existing role as business director on DStv. She replaces Lauren Woolf, who is stepping down from the role for personal reasons, but will continue to work with Ogilvy Johannesburg on a part-time basis.

In addition, business directors Caree Ferrari and Tracey Edwards have been appointed to the Johannesburg board of directors.

Ogilvy Johannesburg MD Julian Ribeiro says both new board members bring a combination of a passion for great creative work, outstanding client relationships, strategic prowess and a solid head for business to augment the agency's existing management structure.

He adds that James' appointment reflects her all-round dedication, leadership ability and passionate commitment to brand liberation. “We are fortunate to have someone so well positioned to assume the challenge of running account management. Sharleen is a trusted partner to clients and her exceptional leadership ability has taken them to new heights and levels of success,” he says.

Ribeiro paid tribute to the outstanding success Woolf has achieved in her two year tenure: “It's a world-class account management team, and highly respected in the industry.”
