“I have worked closely with Fran over the past five years and feel confident that she will do a terrific job in this new role,” says Human. He adds that Luckin's appointment was a natural choice: she is widely respected and admired by clients and colleagues alike, has forged excellent relationships both within and outside the agency and has the vision, energy and talent to take Ogilvy to new creative heights.

Luckin's credentials stand her in good stead for the role. She has been in advertising for the last 14 years and is one of South Africa's most awarded and respected creative people. She won a Loerie Grand Prix in 2002 and Cannes Gold in 2006. She's won several Gold Loeries along the way and accumulated nine entries in the D&AD Annual.

After completing a BA Hons at the University of Natal, Luckin spent a year at the AAA School of Advertising after which she was enlisted as an apprentice writer at The Jupiter Drawing Room. In 1997, Luckin joined TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris and was promoted to creative director in 2000. In 2003 she joined Ogilvy Johannesburg and was appointed to its board in 2005.

She has worked across a broad range of Ogilvy clients, including SAB Miller, South African Tourism, Exclusive Books, M-Net, Audi, KFC and Avis, many of which have won awards for both creativity and effectiveness.
