A cash prize of R6000 is up for grabs in each category and the overall student winner walks away with a study bursary to the value of R10 000. The Prestige Prize winner wins an overseas trip to the value of R25 000.

This year, to encourage advertising excellence in all of South Africa's indigenous languages, a Pendoring trophy will be awarded in each of the three sub-categories of the Truly South African category, namely TV, radio and print, provided the quality of the work warrants it.

“Although Pendoring was primarily established to recognise and reward excellent Afrikaans advertising, it has since evolved to be inclusive, hence the creation of the category Truly South African to acknowledge and reward advertising excellence in each of South Africa's 11 official languages.

“Since its inception, this category has grown consistently, so it was decided to extend its scope by rewarding the finest indigenous work across TV, radio and print,” says Pendoring chairman Pieter Bruwer. However, the winners in the different sub-categories will not be eligible for the Pendoring prestige prize.
