Call for SA entries to global B2B media awards

CLEVELAND, OHIO: The 2007 premier global business-to-business publishing awards, the Tabbies, have opened the 'Call for Entries'. Awards President, Paul J Heney, speaking from Cleveland, Ohio, told Bizcommunity.com that he is particularly keen for South African publishers to enter.

The Tabbies international B2B magazine competition encompasses 19 categories, and is open to English language business-to-business publications around the world that are published at least quarterly. Entry details are available for download from www.tabpi.org/2007.pdf, and features two all-new categories: Feature Design and Best b2b Website. The deadline for entries to be postmarked is 7 March 2007.

The Tabbies, the editorial and design awards program run by Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI), again is partnering with the US's American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE), New Zealand's Magazine Publishers Association (MPA), Australia's Society of Editors NSW, and UK-based Minett Media.

Categories in the Tabbies' editorial division include: Best Single Issue, Department, Editor's Column, Feature Article, Focus/Profile Article, How-To Article or Series, News Coverage, Regular Column, Single News Article, Special Section, and Technical Article.

Categories in the design division include: Feature Design, Front Cover, Digital Imagery; Front Cover, Illustration; Front Cover, Photograph; Front Cover, Special Issue; Opening Page or Spread; and Table of Contents.

The all-new online division will recognise the most interactive, informative B2B websites.

The 2007 Tabbies are also supported by companies that have an interest in working with B2B editors and publishers -- as well as supporting editorial and design excellence. Gold Sponsors for the 2007 Tabbies are: Texterity Inc. (www.texterity.com), RedRover Reprint & Content Management Services (www.redroverreprints.com), and Proximity Marketing (www.proximitymarketing.com). Judges for the competition will be culled from suggestions of regional editorial groups across the globe. Winners will be announced on or about 1 July 2007.
