Times LIVE lives the digital dream

Times LIVE, the new digital home of The Times and Sunday Times, has walked away with top honours in the Publishing Category of this year's Bookmarks Awards presented by the Online Publishers' Association.

The Bookmarks celebrate digital media in all its forms and this year the theme at the awards was Be Big in Digital. The award, which is decided on by thought leaders of the digital publishing and creative community, including two leading international digital figureheads, comes soon after the website relaunched in September under a new brand and layout.

“It means a lot to be given the highest accolade in our category against stiff competition such as Fin24.com. We know through this award that we are on the right trajectory and we will continue to work hard to be better everyday,” says Elan Lohmann, general manager Avusa Media Online.

According to the October figures from Nielsen's NetRatings the site now has over 800 000 unique users in total of which over 350 000 are local readers.

Earlier this year The Times was selected as an Official Honouree at the 13th Annual Webby Awards for their mobile site. This award was only awarded to the top 15% of all submissions.

“We are thrilled that the industry and a jury of our peers, has recognised the hard work put into re-branding and redesigning Times LIVE through this recent award,” points out Lohmann. “It is an important motivator for the entire team”.
