Seamless bend pipes showcased at WAMPEX Expo

German polymer processing company STAR is a first-time exhibitor at this year's West African Mining and Power Exhibition, WAMPEX 2014. The company develops and produces large diameter polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP)pipe systems of up to 1200mm outside diameter.

"We know how important it is to use the right, high quality fittings for successful mining operations, and therefore have just established a new sales office and stock holding in Ghana," explains Sumaila Ibrahim. "We are attending many exhibitions, including WAMPEX, to display all the innovations we have developed in our products."

Besides standard compliant seamless bends, STAR will exhibit its range of full-pressure rated spigot and electro-fusion fittings, with all dimensions, welding lengths, tolerances and material properties manufactured according to regulations.

During the production of seamless bends in industrial plastic pipes, both reduced and increased variations in wall thickness can arise within the same bend radius. No pipe manufacturers can match the R˜ 1,5 x drequired minimum wall thickness in a seamless bend pipe - something which STAR has perfected. This follows extensive, ongoing research and advanced development to improve manufacturing processes and raise the quality of its fittings.
