New look, editor for Journal of Marketing

The first issue of the new-look Journal of Marketing will be available from Friday, 3 February 2012, as it launches an overhaul of its content offering. Kerryn Le Cordeur has been appointed the new editor of the publication.

Published six times a year by Future Publishing, it reports on issues pertaining to the marketing professional. Having cut ties with industry associations in order to develop an independent voice, the publication's new content spans media, branding, design, advertising and strategy to encompass the 360° approach that today's marketers must adopt in order to generate ROI for clients.

Its new look aims to encompass its newfound independence and voice and speaks to both the creative and professional nature of the marketing industry.

Developing the voice of the magazine

Marketing commentator Jeremy Maggs, who has edited the publication for four years, will continue to be involved with the magazine in his role as editor-in chief. He is confident that readers will gain more value with Le Cordeur's appointment. "We've brought her on board to develop the voice of the magazine and to ensure that we continue to offer real solutions to the marketing fraternity," he says.

The advertorial and sales team, made up of Tony Goslin, Sabrina Scherf and Lindsey Kin, joins Le Cordeur. Together, they will be working on finding value across the Future Publishing spectrum, which includes Journal of Marketing Breakfasts, sister publication The Annual and the MTN Radio Awards.

MD of Future Publishing Richard Lendrum is positive about where the magazine is headed over the next 12 months. "We have the right team in place for this magazine to have a real impact both on the company and the marketing industry," he says.

Le Cordeur (@KerrynLeC) concludes, "I'm excited to get to work on living up to our tagline, 'smart marketing ideas' and I look forward to the challenge presented to us, as we work towards being the guide to marketing in South Africa."
