Music Network brings 15 bands to Cape Town and Joburg

Music Network, a Breakout Agency initiative, will be bringing 15 top South African bands to three gigs in October. The launch is in Cape Town on Thursday, 13 October, at The Assembly, then at Tanz Café, Joburg on Friday, 14 and Saturday, 15 October, 2011.

The hottest music properties, new and well established, will be in two venues over three very special nights. Add two of the most influential names in international music -Worldwide Executive and the president of EA Music Group for Electronic Arts, Steve Schnur (as well as Artwerk music Publishing representing Publishing - Junkie XL, Ladytron, Airbourne, Matt & Kim ) and Pangaea Entertainment Group, A&R Worldwide and MUSEXPO brands owner Sat Bisla (whose current event has seen showcases by bands like Temper trap, Katy Perry, Jessie J.

At the Cape Town venue, The Assembly in Harrington Street, Goodluck, Machineri, Taxi Violence, Pascal & Pearce and Louise Day will all share the stage on the opening night, Thursday, 13 October.

North to Joburg

The series then heads north and makes Tanz Café, Joburg, the base for a two-night residency on Friday, 14 and Saturday, 15 October. On the first evening the city will hear aKing, Plush, Laurie Levine, The Rescu and Michael Lowman. The final evening sets the stage for The Graeme Watkins Project, Evolver One, Farryl Purkiss, Lonehill Estate, and Shadowclub.

Expect to spot music retailers, media, event co-ordinators and promoters between the fans.
