Nuy Valley Harvest Celebration

The picturesque Nuy Valley in Worcester will play host to the inaugural Nuy Valley Harvest Celebration - a cycling, food and wine fest - on Saturday, 27 June. For the more energetic, there's the Nando's & Willow Creek MTB cycling challenge through olive orchards, vineyards, mountains and veld.

Cyclists can enter a 10km, 30km or 60km challenge by registering online at www.entrytime.com or by filling in an entry form at cycle shops and Nando's restaurants. Races start at 9h00. The first 100 online entries will receive free hampers from Willow Creek and Nando's.

For visitors more interested in the gourmet offering, the Willow Creek Olive Estate will present hourly olive oil tasting sessions from 09h00. They will also be able to create their own freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil.

The programme at the nearby Nuy Winery includes all day wine and cheese tasting in conjunction with Leipzig Country house, where guests can experience great tastes made simple with food and wine pairing at 12h30.

From 18h00 at Willow Creek, Cape Town's own Giggling Gourmet Jenny Morris will share her knowledge of extra virgin cuisine. She'll receive assistance on wine pairing from Sauvignon Blanc King, Bartho Eksteen from Hermanuspietersfontein. Rugby enthusiasts can round the evening off at the Conradie Family Vineyards, the South African champion Cabernet Sauvignon producer. In addition to all day wine tasting, watch the Springboks take on the lions live, on the big screen, at 15h00. At 18h00 the Vineyard will host a spit braai and ‘bottomless' Cabernet.

The Kliplapa Function Centre will also offer an exclusive women Cabaret with food and wine pairing in the evening from 18h00.
