Witness The Funk is currently causing waves in the South African music industry with their break out hit single Nomusa. This also marks the inroads of the Gqom trap sound into mainstream rotation, a sound that they championed themselves. Since forming in early 2015, this KZN-based group has amassed over 35,000 followers and is dominating the local scene.

Robert, aka DJ Murder, teamed up with Thabo, aka Smol, to form Black Motion in 2010. The two have been in the music production business for about five years. Their breakthrough came when they produced the hit single Banane Mavoko. Since then, they have been producing and performing alongside DJ Qness, Black Coffee, Djeff and DJ Oskido with their own tracks Rainbow, African Salsa, Fortune Teller, Talking to the Drums and more.

Riky Rick

Riky Rick's first taste of music was at a recording studio session with Bongani Fassie. It was by Bongani's side that Rick was inspired to make his own music. He released his first single, Barbershop, featuring Da L.E.S. And quickly rose to fame by the release of his hit single Nafukwa. He followed that up with Amantombozane (Remix) featuring fellow South African recording artists Okmalumkoolkat, Maggz, Kwesta, Ginger Bread Man, Kid X, Nadia Nakai, and DJ Dimplez.

Riky Rick`s major debut single Boss Zonke was a major success, peaking at number three on the SA Top-10 list. That is when he released his fifth hit single, Sondela, which was dedicated to his real love, featuring Zano. The music video for Sondela featured his son, Pearl Thusi and Malik. In September 2015, Family Values was certified Gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa for shipments of over 20,000 copies. At the MTV Africa Music Awards 2015, he won the award for best video for his hit song Nafukwa.
