Coasting through the rush hour with Alan Khan

The radio revolution continues, with yet another radio station making changes to its line-up this month: Alan Khan makes a return to the East Coast Radio airwaves, after three years in management, and is joined by popular evening presenter and TV personality Sorisha Naidoo.

Gavin Meiring, programme manager, says: "I am very excited to have a presenter of Alan Khan's experience and ability back on air. It has taken a while to convince him to make the change, but once he was on air for the trial runs, the radio bug bit again and no more discussion was needed. He will no doubt bring a fresh, new approach to the show and I look forward to working with him again."

Soon to be seen in SABC 1's new drama series 'Home Affairs' in a lead role, Naidoo cut her television teeth on the Big Brand Bonanza Show and eTV's Nightlife. Radio seems to have created a perfect fit for her though, with her evening and weekend shows being the training ground for her new role in the mornings: "I'm more than ready. Our listeners should brace themselves for the most enjoyable mornings of their lives."

Lev David remains as producer. Current Breakfast Serial presenters, Makhosi Khoza and Jane Linley have moved into new time slots with Makhosi heading up the 6pm to 9pm weekday slot, for three hours of The X factor, as well as the 10am to 1pm show every Saturday, while Jane Linley joins Trevor Williams for a new Late Nite Vibe from 9pm to midnight.

Meiring says extensive research has shown that a large majority of East Coast Radio listeners want a smooth start to the morning; in a nutshell, an audio breakfast-on-the-go that includes a large helping of relevant and intelligent information, with a generous spoonful of wry humour.
