Both shows will be hosted by TV personality and DJ Elana Afrika. “Both shows are interactive, giving the viewers the opportunity to weigh in with their opinions immediately after each week's episode. Viewers will be able to phone and SMS their comments live on air and just because it's on go doesn't mean it's just for young viewers – it's for all Idols and Survivor fans!” she says.
“We will feature all sorts of exclusive behind-the-scenes stuff that you won't be able to see anywhere else,” she adds, “and when the Top 10 contestants start going home, they will be in-studio immediately after the results show”.
The first episode of go Extra: Idols airs on go on Monday, 20 August 2007, at 7.30pm with studio guest Randall Abrahams. Go Extra: Survivor will be live on go every Wednesday at 9pm, starting on 22 August, and each week the contestant voted off the island will be a guest in the studio. Journalists who were on location in Malaysia when the series was filmed will also guest on the show to give behind-the-scenes insight.
“This is your chance to speak directly with the contestants and find out the truth of what happened on the island!” says Elana.
