Kahvé Road, a premium coffee and patisserie specialist located Cavendish Square, has extended its retail offering and now stocks its own premium coffee capsule range.

The retro-chic café opened its doors in July and has become known for its signature blends that are made from ethically-sourced 100% Arabica Specialty Grade Coffee. The five specialty blends are now available to purchase as capsules to be enjoyed at home.

Blend breakdown

The Petra (house blend) draws together some of the world’s premium coffee beans to create flavours of sweet milk chocolate and berries, and an aroma of caramelised berry.
• Coffee: Ethiopia, Columbia, Guatemala
• Intensity: 6/10
• Flavour Notes: Sweet milk chocolate, berries
• Aroma: Caramelized berries

The Babylon (dark blend) is characterised by its aroma of fresh cream and hazelnuts, and a sweet creamy flavour of dark cocoa.
• Coffee: Brazil, Indonesia, Columbia
• Intensity: 8/10
• Flavour Notes: Sweet, creamy, dark coco
• Aroma: Hazelnuts and fresh cream

The Machu Picchu (light blend) has a fresh, bright aroma followed by natural notes of melon and orange, and a smooth aftertaste.
• Coffee: Burundi, Uganda, Malawi
• Intensity: 5/10
• Flavour Notes: Fresh melon and orange
• Aroma: Bright and fresh

The Troy (decaf) blend is a mix of rich cocoa and aged pear aromas followed by the flavours of chocolate and tobacco.
• Decaf coffee: Mexico, Democratic Republic of Congo
• Intensity: 6/10
• Flavour Notes: Good body, chocolate, tobacco
• Aroma: Rich coco, aged pear
• Caffeine-free

The Chan Chan (rooibos) boasts a sweet fynbos aroma and gentle flavours of woody spice, caramel and peach.
• Tea: Spiced red rooibos tea
• Flavour: Woody spice, caramel, peach
• Aroma: Sweet fynbos
• Caffeine-free

The new capsule offering will be available in store in boxes of 10 capsules, retailing for R90 each. All capsules are Nespresso compatible.
