It would be available in select Southern Sun Hotels and Tsogo Sun Casinos in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, Tsogo Sun Gaming said in a statement.

African farmers produced some of the most extraordinary coffees in the world and Starbucks had a long history of purchasing coffee from Africa.

"This move into South Africa is another sign of Starbucks commitment to doing business in Africa."

Southern Sun MD Graham Wood said the company was "excited" about the association.

"We look forward to being able to offer our guests the large variety of coffee options that will be available to them in select hotels."

Starbucks would be available at Johannesburg's SunSquare Montecasino Hotel and InterContinental Johannesburg Sandton Towers, Southern Sun Cullinan Hotel in Cape Town and Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel in Durban.
