PR Assistant

Job description

Storybook Brand Consultancy is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and motivated recent PR, marketing or digital marketing graduate to join our team as an entry-level PR Assistant. You must be based in Cape Town and able to travel to Brackenfell five days a week, as this is an on-site office role.

Our admin whizz will assist us with 

• Media research and compiling media lists.
• Media release distribution to targeted media friends.
• Compiling status and coverage reports for clients.
• When required, writing ad hoc small copy, primarily for ad hoc social media posts.
• Basic email management to maintain comms with the client and team.
• Maintaining processes and admin on our shared Monday.Com platform (training will be provided)
• Maintaining the marketing, editorial and influencer marketing calendars.
• Assisting with the admin of liasing with media and influencers for press drops.
• You will be expected to participate in brainstorms and attend some client meetings.

Is this you? 

• A PR graduate of at least one year, as there is potential to grow into a PR account executive role.
• An entry-level understanding of influencer marketing.
• Have a sound understanding and interest in news, pop culture and digital trends.
• Exceptional verbal and written English language skills.
• Speak well and present feedback confidently to internal clients.
• Great MS Office skills - specifically Word, Excel and Power Point. 
• Working knowledge of Canva and a good handle on posting to social media platforms.
• Good timekeeping and the ability to self-manage to meet deadlines is essential.
• You can work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
• You want to be integrated into a fun, vibey and energetic client marketing team. 

Required

• A good command of English, with a second South African language
• GREAT organisational and self-management skills.
• Amazing attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and go the extra mile.
