    Job Summary

    We are seeking a creative, proactive, and execution-driven Social Media Manager to join our growing digital marketing agency in Cape Town.

    This role is responsible for managing and growing multiple ecommerce and consumer brands across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, confidently manages multiple brands simultaneously, and operates with strong time management, attention to detail, and deadline discipline.

    You must be highly organised, strategically minded, comfortable on camera, confident shooting short-form video content, and able to collaborate effectively with creative, paid media, and account management teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Social Media Strategy & Content Planning

    • Develop structured monthly content plans for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Reels aligned to broader marketing objectives.
    • Translate brand strategy into clear content calendars and execution roadmaps.
    • Conduct competitor research and trend analysis to identify tactical platform opportunities.
    • Ideate and develop social media campaigns, product pushes, and follower growth strategies.
    • Work closely with the Creative Strategist and Account Managers to ensure social plans align with broader strategic direction.
    • Set and track KPIs, adapting plans based on performance insights.


    2. Content Creation, Shooting & Production
    • Ideate, shoot, and edit short-form video content in both UGC-style and controlled environments using social media content creation equipment (lighting, microphones, backdrops, mobile rigs).
    • Confidently create product-led and face-to-camera content that feels native to TikTok and Instagram Reels.
    • Conceptualise and script trend-driven product videos aligned with brand positioning.
    • Moodboard, script, and create detailed shot lists for the Videographer to produce higher-level brand videos.
    • Ideate and plan fresh asset banks to ensure ongoing creative testing and variety for both organic and paid campaigns.
    • Create clear, structured design briefs for the Designer.
    • Use CapCut and Canva to edit and produce platform-native content.
    • Adapt and format content to platform-specific specs (ratios, hooks, captions, overlays, durations).
    • Write compelling, on-brand social media copy.
    • Quality control all content prior to publishing.


    3. Influencer & UGC Management
    • Identify, vet, and manage UGC creators aligned with brand positioning and campaign objectives.
    • Identify and manage influencer partnerships.
    • Negotiate deliverables, usage rights, and timelines.
    • Coordinate briefs and ensure deadlines are met.
    • Track and report on performance and ROI of influencer campaigns.


    4. Community & Reputation Management
    • Manage daily community engagement across platforms.
    • Respond to comments and DMs in a timely and on-brand manner.
    • Proactively build and nurture brand communities.
    • Monitor sentiment and escalate potential risks where necessary.


    5. Paid Media Collaboration
    • Work closely with the Paid Media team to develop creative assets required for performance campaigns.
    • Assist in conceptualising conversion-focused content.
    • Ensure insights from organic performance inform paid media creative strategy.


    6. Email & Cross-Channel Alignment
    • Assist with monthly email newsletter ideation and copywriting aligned with social campaigns.
    • Ensure messaging consistency across all digital channels.


    7. Analytics & Reporting
    • Analyse social media performance data and identify optimisation opportunities.
    • Compile clear monthly reports with insights and next steps.
    • Use data-driven insights to refine future content strategies.


    Agency Environment Expectations
    • Proven ability to manage multiple brands and content calendars simultaneously.
    • Strong time management and task prioritisation skills.
    • Highly deadline-driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment.
    • Exceptional attention to detail across copy, formatting, publishing, tagging, and reporting.
    • Ability to handle feedback loops professionally and implement revisions efficiently.
    • Structured workflow management and strong organisational skills.


    Qualifications & Experience
    • 2–3 years experience in a social media role, preferably within an agency environment.
    • Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and short-form video trends.
    • Demonstrable experience shooting and editing platform-native content.
      Experience managing influencer and UGC partnerships.
    • Proficiency in CapCut and Canva.
    • Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.
    • Solid understanding of performance metrics and reporting.
    • Experience working alongside paid social campaigns is advantageous.
